Gary & Vera Aspey

Gary and Vera Aspey have been stalwarts of the folk scene for over thirty-five years, becoming professional in 1974. They have taken their stories, songs and humour to many parts of the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Brunei, Oman, Central America and several European countries.

Their discography includes five recordings for the Topic label, two for Dingles. Their most recent CD “Travelled the road and still travelling” was recorded in Ireland and features English and Irish musicians.

Gary and Vera are proud to have been guests for the first ten consecutive years at the Fylde Festival. Vera was instrumental, with Sam Sherry and Alan Bell, in setting the rules for the Lancashire and Cheshire Clog Dancing Contests, revived by them at Fylde.
