Ruth Notman
Ruth Notman is an 18 year old traditional style folk singer and songwriter from Nottingham who despite her young years, has already accomplished an astonishing amount.
Over the last four years, she has encountered some of the folk world’s biggest names, playing at venues and festivals like Cambridge, Whitby, Holmfirth, Derby Assembly Rooms and The Union Chapel in London.
The purity of her refreshing voice has left audiences all over the country in awe. She accompanies herself to a well-crafted high standard on piano, harp and guitar and she has a natural approach to her stage presence that would amaze hardened professionals. Her ability to perform songs with such emotion and skill has led to recognition within the folk scene particularly as a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2007, where she picked up a number of gigs and great interest from record labels. Ruth Notman's debut album “Threads” is released in August. |
