Fylde Folk Festival

Stanley Accrington

Just as cat-gut is not either and Blackpool Rock was never laid down in the Cretaceous Era and is generally manufactured in Shanghai, Stanley Accrington is neither a true Stanley nor has anything to do with Accrington.

The name is in fact the alias of a cultural terrorist who operates out of the mid-Pennines. Since 1980, he has been raiding folk clubs, Festivals and events all over the UK and sometimes beyond, spreading confusion and consternation with his bombshells of topicality detonated by the fuse of silliness. To throw the Folk Police off his trail, he sometimes resorts to resorts like Fleetwood and puts together his dangerous mix of daft and serious songs for unsuspecting audiances.

For the umpteenth year, he’s here again. You have been warned.
