Tich Frier

It’s more than forty years since Tich Frier started singing folk songs in his home town of Edinburgh. In that time he has shared stages with some of the greats of folk song and taken his passion for this music half-way round the world and back. He is known for his great voice, driving guitar and uncontrollable sense of humour.

His repertoire is taken from the tradition and some of the finest writers around. New songs from sources not obviously “folk” and his own pen continually nourish it. His new CD “Shanghaied” will be released in 2007 and is his best work to date – “a thing of power and beauty”. A Tich Frier performance is something to be relished and enjoyed.
