Fylde Folk Festival

Tom Walsh

Born and brought up in Skerton, Lancaster, Tom’s Irish/Belgian parentage has always ensured a European dimension to his music, usually to the accompaniment of his trusty three-row accordion.

A knowledge of musical styles and techniques picked up from all over Europe has been combined into a sound that is uniquely his own, while the songs and tunes learned over many years at roadside campfires on the traditional wagon routes to Appleby Fair led to the recording with Dave Peters  of the cassette “Romany Rye” and more recently the CD “Romany Yog” for Gordon Boswell’s Romany Museum in Spalding.

You’ll find him with the A69 Band along with Joe Crane, Hugh O’Donnell and Neil Brook.
