Argarmeles Clog Morris
The Argarmeles Clog team recently celebrated their thirtieth anniversary. Started in 1976, they have been dancing North West Morris around Southport and West Lancashire and throughout the country ever since, with great enthusiasm.
The name Argarmeles is derived in part from “mels”, the Norse word for sandhils. The village of Argarmeles, thought to lie off Southport, was lost to the sea in the fourteenth century.
They practise weekly in Formby and dance out regularly at local pubs throughout the summer, at Folk Festivals, days of dance and fetes, and are always looking out for new dancers and musicians.
