Fylde Folk Festival

Charlie Rainbow Wolf and Chris Cox

Husband and wife duo of Fleetwood native Chris Cox and American born Charlie Rainbow Wolf were regulars at Fylde when they lived here, until 2001 when they moved to Charlie's roots in Midwestern America.

Chris and Charlie bring a blend of blues and self-penned numbers to the Festival, reincarnated as Strange Fruit. Both competent artists in their own right, Chris was a regular participant in many music festivals and member of several blues bands throughout the Fylde, while Charlie’s fine voice and delicate guitar work, engaging stage presence and an ear for a good song made her an asset to the local scene that is sorely missed.

Since moving to the United States they have both involved themselves in music over there. Charlie is well known amongst some Native American circles for singing the songs that reflect her Cherokee background. True to form, Chris has found his way into bars and clubs, jamming with local musicians.

It’s been six years since Chris and Charlie have appeared at Fylde together, and they look forward to meeting old friends and new throughout the weekend.
