The Waltzing Matilda No More Tour” is ERIC BOGLE’S farewell to his native shores, for he is retiring to his adopted country of Australia.

Born in Peebles, Eric drifted from School into a variety of jobs and at one stage became lead singer in a local rock band. However, realising he was going around in circles as he put it, Eric then immigrated to Australia in 1969.
Eric became a very successful businessman, until one day - another great sea change - he decided there must be more to life than just business. And so began his extraordinary career in folk music.

A prolific songwriter, his songs “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda” and “The Green Fields of France” have become worldwide classics. Eric has recorded 14 CD’s and has toured extensively throughout the world.
Eric was awarded the Order of Australia Medal and a peace medal from the United Nations for his charity work.
Eric Bogle and his brilliant accompanist John Munro will be making their final bows to Northern festival goers and the people of the North West in two concerts on Saturday  5th September 2009.

This will be an occasion not to be missed!
